H. Mounier owns the brand Reynac since its launch in 1969. It has contributed greatly to the development of the Pineau des Charentes. Le brand set an example for the whole profession in order to raise awareness and appreciation of this liquor wine beyond the borders of the Charente and Charente-Maritime.
The name Reynac was designed with a trailing “ac” typical of the region of Charentes (Cognac, Jarnac, Mérignac, etc). This Celtic sounding reflects the different historic possessions of Charentes and means property, fiefdom. “Rey” which means “king”, gives noble origins to the product. Reynac could therefore be translated as “the King’s fiefdom”.
